Each member gets something different out of his membership of Round Table. As well as being a great social outlet, we all find it an excellent antidote to the stresses of modern day living and the pressures of work.

We all come from different backgrounds and represent professions and industries as diverse as accountancy, construction, engineering, IT, medical, printing and sales.

Every Tabler will tell you that their involvement has really expanded their horizons, developed their business skills, and provided endless opportunities to develop some great friendships locally, across the UK, and around the world.

Round Table works because each club is a really good group of friends. Our structured social life provides a broad range of activities. Entertaining, relaxing, sporting, challenging, and team-building are just some of the adjectives that can be used to describe our socialising. Above all, it's fun! And we can do so much more as a group than as individuals. We've been able to organise and take part in a variety of novel pursuits ~ from Quad-biking to Paint Balling, and much more. And it doesn't cost us an arm and a leg either.

Most of what we get up to takes place in or around Doncaster, every other Tuesday evening. But we also get together at weekends and other times, often with our partners and families. Many of us have children and the youngsters seem to love the opportunities that Round Table gives them, and value their dad's involvement. Our Lads-n-dads weekend away (daughters come as well) is the highlight of the year for our children - quality time with our children and our wives love the freedom of a weekend on their own.

A very strong team spirit is developed within the club. This makes it really easy for us to pool our skills and channel our joint resources into doing something useful for the community; whether it's raising money for worthy causes or organising local events. Our annual Spring Charity Ball and Father Christmas' Grotto are excellent examples of enjoyable charitable activities that also provide a service to our community.

As well as the active social life and networking opportunities, every member benefits from continued personal development and acquiring new transferable skills. Yet throughout this we're able to help put something back into the area where we live.

So how much time and effort do we have to put in to get all this in return? Well, as much as we want to; and we all find that we want to as much as we can! The only requirement is that we each attend at least 16 Table nights a year. Our members already lead really busy lives, with business commitments taking many of us away from home (even overseas) during the week. Nobody is made to feel guilty if they can't join in all the fun. We simply encourage everyone to commit to what they can. It's accepted that our families and work come before Tabling, but we all get so much out of it that we make the effort to join in as much as possible.

Membership of Round Table is by invitation only, but if you'd like to come out with us to find out more, just ask. No obligation and no funny handshakes!
